A Sample of Our Work

From everyday home repairs to larger improvement projects, Main Street Repairs helps East Bay homeowners get things fixed right. Here are a few examples of our recent work, including before-and-after photos showing the transformation.

Oversized Front Door Refinishing

Before

After

Years of sun and weather exposure had worn away the finish on this oversized wood front door, leaving it faded and unprotected. We carefully sanded and prepared the entire door, applied a rich new exterior finish, and reinstalled it with its existing hardware. The restored door now provides a warm, polished entrance while preserving the character of the original woodwork.

Brick Patio Restoration

Years of moss, dirt, and organic growth had discolored this brick patio. We thoroughly cleaned the brick and grout lines, removed the buildup, and applied a protective sealer to restore the patio’s warm color and help preserve the surface.

Dry-Rotted Window Trim Repair

Before

After

Years of moisture exposure had caused severe dry rot at the base of this window trim. We removed the damaged material, rebuilt the deteriorated area, sealed it against moisture, and finished it to blend with the existing window.

With the rainy season approaching, now is a good time to repair damaged exterior trim before more water gets in and a small repair becomes a much bigger one.

Low-Voltage Deck Lighting Installation

Before

After

We installed low-voltage lighting along the deck to improve nighttime visibility while adding warm, subtle illumination to the outdoor space. The wiring and fixtures were carefully integrated into the existing deck for a clean, finished appearance.

A small lighting upgrade can make a deck safer, more functional, and much more inviting after dark.

Tile Grout Cleaning & Restoration

Years of dirt and buildup had darkened and discolored the grout, leaving the tile looking worn and uneven. We thoroughly cleaned the grout lines, removed the embedded buildup, and restored a clean, consistent appearance.

A deep grout cleaning can dramatically refresh a tiled surface without the cost and disruption of replacing it.

Thermostat and Light Switch Relocation

The client wanted a clean, uninterrupted wall for displaying artwork, but the existing thermostat and light switch broke up the space. We relocated both to the adjacent wall, rerouting the wiring through the attic. We then patched the original openings, matched the existing wall texture, and repainted the entire wall for a seamless finish, leaving no visible sign they had ever been there.
